Dr. Alexander Nguyen is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon practicing in the Phoenix, AZ, and Austin, TX, areas and is the owner of a busy, full-scope private practice. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA, and then completed a rigorous four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign-Urbana, IL. He has taken an interest in full-arch dental implant rehabilitation and complex dental implant techniques, such as zygomatic, transnasal and pterygoid implants. Both practices now function as tertiary-care full-arch practices that treat some of the most difficult cases in the world, with revisions accounting for a significant portion of cases. With a firm belief in properly educating other providers, Dr. Nguyen has a passion for teaching remote anchorage courses and has traveled frequently for many years, both domestically and internationally, to lecture and teach surgery with an emphasis on complications management. He has contributed to multiple publications, including textbooks, and successfully performed the first transnasal implant in Arizona.
Along with being in the office and teaching, he still practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery. He has full hospital privileges and exercises them at multiple medical centers, many of which are Level 1 Trauma Centers. Dr. Nguyen also serves as adjunct faculty at his former residency program at Carle Health and oversees full-arch and remote anchorage surgeries with the oral and maxillofacial surgery residents. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Basic Life Support. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.
